Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans

Similar to the CUPA services listed above, Core Environmental Consulting will determine your facility requirements, assess your current compliance status, conduct field investigations, and revise or augment your current documentation and protocols.

SPCC plans are required for facilities that store or handle oil in quantities and locations that could reasonably be expected to discharge into or upon navigable waters or adjoining shorelines. These plans help to prevent and minimize the environmental impact of oil spills. SPCC plans are not required to be submitted to an agency for review and approval, but they do need to be maintained and updated onsite. The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the California State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) both require that SPCC plans be reviewed and updated at least once every five years, or more often if there is a significant change in facility operations or if there is an oil spill. Plans must be available for inspection by EPA or SWRCB upon request.

We can help you prepare and maintain all of the correct paperwork, develop and implement efficient protocols, and provide record keeping and documentation to ensure smooth and thorough compliance.
