The CalEPA Unified Program consolidates, coordinates, and makes consistent the administrative requirements, permits, inspections, and enforcement activities of six environmental and emergency response programs in California:<\/p><ul><li>Aboveground Petroleum Storage Act (APSA) Program<\/li><li>California Accidental Release Prevention (CalARP) Program<\/li><li>Hazardous Materials Business Plan (HMBP) Program<\/li><li>Hazardous Materials Management and Inventory Program<\/li><li>Hazardous Waste and Hazardous Waste Treatment Program<\/li><li>Underground Storage Tank (UST) Program<\/li><\/ul><p>Each facility that is subject to the Unified Program requirements must submit and maintain information to the California Environmental Reporting System (CERS), train staff, and implement the facility-specific requirements.\u00a0Plans and documentation must also be updated regularly, with varying timelines for each component.<\/p><p>Managing all of these requirements can be complex and burdensome, and many facilities either fall behind or spend enormous resources to stay compliant.
